McCrossin’s Mill Museum

Uralla Pioneer Cemetery & Thunderbolt’s Grave

The Pioneer Cemetery, the final resting place of Captain Thunderbolt.

The last of the New South Wales bushrangers, Frederick Wordsworth Ward, better known as "Captain Thunderbolt", ruled the highways and byways of New England High Country and beyond for much of the 1860s.

Alma Park

Established during the 1880s and winner of several awards, Alma Park is located one block from Uralla’s main street. The park received its name in 1893 when local school children assembled to plant one hundred trees within its grounds. The first tree was planted by Alma O’Connor, daughter of the Mayor, Alderman O’Connor, and the park now bears her name in remembrance of the occasion.

Dangar's Lagoon & Racecourse Lagoon

Located within close proximity of Uralla township are three upland wetlands; the main two being Dangar’s and Racecourse Lagoons. A wetland is an area that is wet for a period of time and within which the animals and plants are dependant to some degree on water to complete their life cycle.

Dangars Falls Lookout

Situated in Oxley Wild Rivers National Park near Dangars Gorge campground. It’s a great way to see beautiful Dangars Falls, near Armidale.

A short walk from the campground and carpark, this lookout platform is the best viewpoint to capture Dangars Falls in all their glory. Looking across the ravine, you’ll see the falls plunge 120m into the gorge below.

Mount Mutton Lookout

Take a bushwalk along the walking track that winds its way up Mount Mutton and through Uralla's historical goldfields precinct. Along the way enjoy the natural bushland setting and learn about Uralla's gold mining history with informative signs and pictures along the path.
